Mt Kaputar Snow in July 2009

The evening of the 15th of July saw a substantial snowfall event on the Nandewar Range which was topped up by overnight snow and several further snow events through the day on the 16th. This period was the first significant snow event since our Mount Kaputar Snow Camera was installed in late June and the first snow event to coincide with school holidays for several years.

The period also saw snow fall in other areas of the north-west, most notably at Ben Lomond.

Also see our snow photos from 2007 and 2008.

Photographic evidence of Big Foot on Mt Kaputar! Seriously though, Chris has a genetic abnormality which prevents him from feeling the cold. Also check out this photo from 2008. Photo by Chris Allen. More snow, plants, etc. showing fine crystalline structure. Photo by Chris Allen.
